Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist MBBS, Arab Board-Certified Diploma in Gynecological Endoscopy

Dr. Amal Al-Qedrah is a highly respected Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist with over three decades of clinical, academic, and leadership experience in women’s health in the United Arab Emirates. She began her medical career at Latifa Hospital in 1992 as an Obstetrics and Gynecology resident, achieved Specialist status in 1997, and was promoted to consultant in 2012. From 2016 to 2020, she served as Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Latifa Hospital, where she played a pivotal leadership role in advancing clinical standards and patient care.  

Dr. Amal initiated and led the development of hospital policies and multidisciplinary clinical guidelines for the management of Morbidly Adherent Placenta, significantly improving outcomes in high-risk obstetric cases. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was actively involved in formulating and implementing clinical and operational guidelines, ensuring safe and effective continuity of care. She has also served as an active member of the Medical Malpractice Committee, contributing to clinical governance, quality assurance, and patient safety. At the regulatory level, Dr. Amal has been a member of the Ministry of Health Obstetrics and Gynecology Licensing Committee since 2013, playing a key role in professional oversight and standards.  

Academically, she initiated the MRCPI OSCE examination in Dubai in 2018, supporting postgraduate medical training and assessment, and continues to serve as a faculty member and clinical educator at the University of Sharjah and Dubai Medical University. In parallel with her public service, she founded Dr. Amal Al-Qedrah Medical Center in 2011, providing specialized women’s healthcare services. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to obstetrics and gynecology, she was honored in 2015 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as the Best Obstetrics and Gynecology Doctor in Dubai.
